“Alright Daisy, just do your thing”. A small smile played on her lips and her eyes glittered at me from across our cups of coffee. At that point Vic, Brooke, and I had chatted for about 45 minutes and by the end of our coffee date we were so excited about the direction of their wedding day that all of us were practically squirming in our seats.
Just do your thing. These four tiny words are music to the ears of all professionals and I knew that we would have a great time capturing their day. They wanted romantic, yet candid and fun, pictures from their sunset wedding at Grandview and Beau and I were pumped. That’s what we love….that is “our thing”. Their wedding day arrived and as we moved towards one of our favorite overlooks after their ceremony this conversation popped into my head and I smiled again. The busy-ness of the day melted away and I stopped to watch Brooke lead Vic towards the crest on Lookout mountain. She slowly wrapped her arms around his waist and they locked eyes with each other.
It hit me.
The best part of what we do is capturing those so deep in love that they can’t help but just do their thing. It’s these moments with couples that make me thankful for this wonderful job…I lifted my camera and began to shoot. Because that’s my thing.
Hugs Brooke and Vic, what an honor it was to celebrate with you both!
